The American Hockey Coaches Association released its RBK College
Division All-American Teams on Thursday (March 18). A pair of Lake
Forest College players were part of the six-player First Team for
the West Region.
Kim
Herring (Dover, N.H./Groton School) was the only sophomore from
either region to earn First Team honors. The forward leads the
nation with 53 points this season on 28 goals and 25 assists. Her
nine game-winning goals are three more than any other player in the
country and she ranks second with nine power play scores. Herring
set new single-season team records for points, goals, and assists
and already ranks among the top four in program history in career
points (73) and goals (42).
Senior Courtney
Bean (Peoria, Ill./Team Illinois) is the first defenseman in
team history to earn All-American honors. She tied for third in the
nation in goals (9) and 12th in the country in points per game (18
in 26 contests) by a defenseman. She finished her four years ranked
seventh in team history with 57 career points, tied-for-ninth with
18 goals, third with 39 assists, and tied-for-fourth with 12 power
play goals.
Lake Forest now claims four All-Americans in the program's 10
seasons. The other two - goalie Sally Bevis and forward Courtney
DeHoey - earned the honor following the 2006-07 season. Bevis was
also recognized by the American Hockey Coaches Association and
DeHoey by U.S. College Hockey Online.
The Foresters finished the 2009-10 season with a program-best
record of 19-3-4 and claimed the first Northern Collegiate Hockey
Association championship in team history.
