Men's and Women's Hockey Leagues Merge, Women to Play for Slaats CupApril 22, 2013Significant changes to the membership and leadership of both the Men's and Women's Northern Collegiate Athletic Association have become official after a meeting of the league athletic directors. Among them is the renaming of the women's tournament championship trophy to honor Lake Forest College Director of Athletics Jackie Slaats.

Brendan Sullivan Named All-MCHA, Ben Certo to All-Freshman TeamFebruary 28, 2013The Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association's end-of-season awards were announced Thursday night at the Harris Cup Four banquet. Lake Forest College's Brendan Sullivan was an All-MCHA selection, Ben Certo was named to the league's All-Freshman Team, and eight Foresters earned MCHA All-Academic honors.

Foresters Win at MSOE to Even Series but Fall in Mini-GameFebruary 24, 2013The Lake Forest College men's hockey team evened its Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association quarterfinal series by blanking host Milwaukee School of Engineering 2-0 on Sunday. However, the Raiders' 1-0 victory in the ensuing mini-game sent them to the next round and ended the Foresters' season.

Foresters Unable to Complete Comeback in MCHA Quarterfinal OpenerFebruary 23, 2013The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 3-2 at Milwaukee School of Engineering Saturday night in the opener of the teams' Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association quarterfinal series. Sophomore Luke Swardenski's third period goal pulled the Foresters to within a goal but they were unable to complete the comeback.

Lake Forest Falls at Lawrence, Still Qualifies for MCHA TournamentFebruary 15, 2013The Forester men's hockey team was edged out 2-1 at Lawrence University Friday night but, thanks to action elsewhere in the league, still clinched a spot in the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament, which will begin next weekend.

Men's Hockey Loses Heartbreaker to MSOE 5-4 in OTFebruary 09, 2013MSOE scored the game winning goal at 2:35 of overtime to win the game after tying the game at 10:22 of the third period. Forester goalie Brendan Sullivan was honored with the Peter Taylor Award in between the first and second periods of the game.

Foresters Tie M.S.O.E. for the Second Time this SeasonFebruary 08, 2013The Lake Forest College men's hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie at Milwaukee School of Engineering, the 15th-ranked team in the nation, Friday night. Forester sophomore Ben Certo scored the game's first goal and classmate Bobby Barrett netted the last with just 34 seconds to play in regulation.

The Sleds are Coming Again!February 04, 2013The Lake Forest College Athletics Department, in conjunction with the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) is excited to host the third annual "The Sleds Are Coming Again!" event on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse on the campus of Lake Forest College. The annual event will take place from 2:30-4:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public, but donations are encouraged in order to support GLASA.

Tony Fritz to Receive Prestigious John MacInnes AwardJanuary 29, 2013The American Hockey Coaches Association recently announced that former Lake Forest College men's hockey coach Tony Fritz will be presented with the John MacInnes Award at the organization's "Celebration of Men's Hockey" Banquet in Naples, Florida, on May 4. The College will honor him during the program's Alumni Night game on Saturday, February 9 (7:00 p.m. vs. MSOE).
