Lake Forest College men's hockey player Chad Thompson
(Rockwood, Ontario/Listowel Cyclones) was named Midwest Collegiate
Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week Monday (January 25)
for his performance in a sweep of Northland College at home the
previous weekend (January 22-23).
Thompson, a sophomore defenseman that joined the team prior to the
spring semester, recorded an assist on each of the Foresters'
goals in a 4-2 come-from-behind victory Friday night. Lake Forest
trailed 2-1 before scoring three times in the final eight minutes
of the game.
The Foresters jumped out to a 3-0 lead in Saturday's 8-5 win.
Thompson helped set up the first two goals, giving him assists on
six consecutive Lake Forest scores.
Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association weekly award winners are
selected by the league's sports information director.
