Forester senior goalkeeper Rachel Tenuta stopped all four shots on goal she faced as the Lake Forest College women's soccer team tied Grinnell College 0-0 at home on Sunday.
It was the second shutout of the season for Tenuta and the 15th of her career, tying her with Alison Lynch (2005-08) for second place in program history. She improved her goals against average on the season to 1.07 and save percentage to .737.
The Foresters out-shot the Pioneers 9-3 in the first 45 minutes of the game and 9-5 in the second half. Grinnell had a 3-2 edge in shots in the first 10-minute overtime period and a 3-1 advantage in the second.
It was the fifth time in nine games this season a Lake Forest game was tied at the end of regulation. The Foresters won their first two overtime games but dropped their next two before finally playing to a tie on Sunday. They are now 4-4-1 overall and 1-1-1 in Midwest Conference play. Grinnell is 3-4-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the league.
Lake Forest will play a non-conference game Tuesday night at Marian University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
