The Forester men's hockey team was defeated 8-2 by St. Norbert College at home Saturday night. Senior forward Ian Pichel scored Lake Forest's first goal of the game early in the second period.
The home team still trailed 4-1 after Pichel's first score of the season. He was assisted by senior forward Alec DeAngelo and defenseman Robert Weiner at 4:26 in the period.
After the Green Knights scored two more goals, Lake Forest junior forward Jack Lewis lit the lamp at the 9:33 mark of the second period. His first goal of the year was set up by sophomore forward Charlie Izaguirre.
St. Norbert added one more goal in the second and another in the third. The visitors outshot the Foresters 38-18 on the night.
The loss dropped the Foresters overall and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association records to 1-3-0. St. Norbert, the 11th-ranked team in the nation in this week's USCHO Poll, improved to 3-1-0 overall and in the league.
Lake Forest will be back in action at home next weekend. The Foresters will host the College of St. Scholastica at 7:30 Friday night and again at 3:00 the next afternoon.
