The American Football Coaches Association announced the 2021 Division III Coaches' All-America Teams on Tuesday and a pair of Foresters made the list.
Wide receiver and kick returner A.J. Jackson was a First Team All-American selection as an all-purpose player. The junior led the nation with 27.6 yards per punt return and four punt return touchdowns and became the NCAA Division III all-time leader with eight scores on punt returns in his career. Jackson led the Midwest Conference with 849 receiving yards and ranked in the top 10 in the country with 16 receiving touchdowns, 165.6 all-purpose yards per game, 21 total touchdowns, and 126 points.
Senior offensive lineman Anthony DerManulian earned Second Team All-American honors after helping lead the Forester offense to a program record 41.5 points per game in 2021. Lake Forest featured a balanced attack on that side of the ball, gaining 192.1 yards per game passing and 180.0 rushing. DerManulian has been the team's starting right tackle for the last three seasons and was named Midwest Conference Offensive Line MVP this year.
Lake Forest posted a 10-1 overall record in 2021 and captured the conference title with a perfect 9-0 mark in league play. The Foresters also made their first NCAA Division III Playoff appearance since 2002.
Jackson and DerManulian are the fourth and fifth Foresters to be named All-Americans by the AFCA in the last six seasons, joining Jordan McInerney (2019), Joey Valdivia (2017), and Alex Pasiewicz (2016).
