Foresters Headed to St. John's for First Round of NCAA Playoffs

Foresters Headed to St. John's for First Round of NCAA Playoffs

The Lake Forest College football team will travel to St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, on Saturday for the opening round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Tournament.

The Foresters qualified for the postseason by capturing the Midwest Conference championship with a perfect 9-0 record in league play. The 2021 MWC title and the program's first NCAA Playoff berth since 2002 was clinched with a 28-6 triumph over the University of Chicago on Saturday. It was the Foresters' team record 10th overall victory of the year.

St. John's is also 10-0 overall this season. The Johnnies went 7-0 in the Minnesota Itercollegiate Athletic Conference and won 29-28 at Bethel University in Saturday's MIAC Championship Game. They have now qualified for national postseason play 31 times, including each of the last seven NCAA Division III Tournaments.

The first round game will be played at Clemens Stadium on Saturday, November 20, at noon. The winner will advance to the second round and face either Linfield College or Redlands University on Saturday, November 27.
