Baker and Jackson Land on D3football.com Team of the Week

Lake Forest College juniors Danny Baker and A.J. Jackson were named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Tuesday for their performance in the Foresters' 48-13 victory at Illinois College last Saturday.

Baker, a safety, was selected for his work on special teams, where he blocked a pair of punts in the contest. The first set the Foresters up for their initial possession of the game at the Blueboys' 4-yardline and the second allowed the visitors to begin a second quarter drive at the Illinois College 18. Lake Forest scored touchdowns on both possessions. Baker also intercepted a pass on the first play of the second quarter.

Of the five Blueboy punts that were not blocked, two were returned for touchdowns by Jackson. He hurdled a potential tackler on his way to a 50-yard score late in the third quarter and out-ran the Illinois College coverage team for a 65-yard touchdown less than two minutes later. Jackson, a wide receiver who added an 18-yard punt return and a 3-yard touchdown run earlier in the contest, is the first Forester and third player in Midwest Conference history with two punt return touchdowns in a game. He also became the league's career leader in punt return touchdowns with six in just 17 games.

This is not the first time D3football.com can recognized either Forester. Baker was named Third Team All-West Region as a freshman and Second Team All-American last spring for his work on special teams while Jackson is a two-time First Team All-American returner and three-time member of the Team of the Week.
