The Lake Forest College women's tennis team finished off a perfect 3-0 weekend with a 9-0 triumph at Knox College on Sunday. Senior Christi Valicenti did not lose a game in doubles or singles play.
Valicenti and fellow senior Grace Dowling won 8-0 at #1 doubles, as did freshmen Billie Rodman and Allison Watts at #2. Junior Zoe Maurer and freshman Tricia Paterakos were nearly as dominant in an 8-1 victory at #3.
Valicenti, Watts, and Paterakos quickly finished off 6-0, 6-0 triumphs at #2, #4, and #6 singles, respectively. Rodman prevailed 6-2, 6-1 at the top spot in the lineup, Maurer posted a 6-0, 6-3 victory at #5, and Dowling closed out the contest by taking both sets 6-1 at #3.
Lake Forest is now 8-1 overall and 6-1 in Midwest Conference play this season. Knox fell to 1-9 overall and 1-5 in the league.
The Foresters will continue conference play at Carroll University on Wednesday. The match will begin at 3:30 p.m.
