Michelle Lunneborg scored her second goal of the game and game winning goal at 2:47 of overtime to lift Stevens Point to a 2-1 victory over the Lake Forest College women's hockey team on Saturday at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
Just 52 seconds into overtime, Lake Forest defenseman Molly Wallner was whistled for a penalty, putting the Pointers on the power play. Lunneborg scored the game winner off a deflection and over the head of Lake Forest goalie Stacey Dierking at 2:47.
Lake Forest (12-7-2, 11-5-1 NCHA) tied the game at 18:39 of the third period on a shot from the point by junior defenseman Angie Chronis.
Stevens Point (10-10-2, 8-8-1) scored the first goal of the game as Lunneborg converted off a rebound at 14:22 of the first period with the Pointers on the power play.
Dierking finished with 35 saves while Stevens Point goalie Janna Beilke-Skoug made save stops.
Lake Forest returns to action on Sunday as the Foresters host Stevens Point at 2 p.m. at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
