Lake Forest College women's hockey player Jessica Dare was named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week on Tuesday after contributing to all three of the team's goals over the weekend.
The Foresters skated to a 2-2 tie Saturday night with visiting College of St. Scholastica. Dare, a senior forward, assisted on the game's first goal at 2:33 in the opening period and scored the second just 34 seconds later. The Saints responded with two goals later in the period and the teams were scoreless the rest of the way.
Lake Forest edged out St. Scholastica 1-0 on Sunday and Dare recorded an assist on the only goal of the game. It was scored by linemate Morgan Pope at 5:43 in the second period.
Dare is tied for second on the team with seven goals and 14 points this season. She is also tied for fifth place in program history with 34 career goals and her 63 points rank seventh.
NCHA Players of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director. Dare also earned the award once as a sophomore.
