The Lake Forest College men's hockey team was defeated 6-1 at Adrian College, the seventh-ranked team in the nation, on Saturday. Sophomore Jordan Bruce scored the Foresters' only goal of the contest.
Bruce's score was his fourth of the season and made the score 2-1 with 5:05 to play in the second period. Fellow sophomore Curran Forgue assisted on the goal.
Adrian had scored twice in the opening period and regained its two-goal advantage at 17:15 in the second.
The Bulldogs added an insurance goal at the 4:10 mark of the third period and converted power play opportunities at 7:05 and 10:53 to account for the final score.
The home team had a 44-18 edge in shots on goal in the contest.
Lake Forest fell to 9-9-2 overall this season and 6-8-1 in Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association play. Adrian is now 17-1-2 overall and atop the MCHA standings with a league record of 13-0-2.
The same two teams will face off again at Adrian Sunday afternoon at 3:00 (EST).
