Lake Forest College men's hockey player Brendan Sullivan was named Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after helping lead the Foresters to a sweep of visiting Finlandia University over the weekend.
Sullivan, a senior goaltender, recorded 17 saves in the team's 4-2 victory Friday night and stopped all 18 shots on goal he faced in a 5-0 blanking of the Lions on Saturday. It was his third shutout of the season.
Sullivan is now 5-0-0 with a 1.80 goals against average against Finlandia in his career.
He is now 6-5-2 on the year and ranks second in the MCHA with a .917 save percentage and 2.15 goals against average on the year.
