The Lake Forest College men's hockey team blanked host Hamline University 4-0 Friday night. It was the second career shutout for Forester senior goaltender Brendan Sullivan.
Sullivan made 23 saves on the night, including 13 in the final period. He raised his save percentage to .908.
Lake Forest got on the scoreboard just 32 seconds into the contest on junior Pat Charron's second goal of the season. He was assisted by sophomores Jason McAloon and Mcauley Banning. McAloon also set up the visitors' second goal at 8:33 in the first period. The power play score was the team-high third of the season for junior Andrew Stein.
After a scoreless second period, Lake Forest extended its lead at the 2:44 mark of the third on sophomore Cam Severson's first goal as a Forester. He was assisted by freshman Ian Pichel. The final goal of the game was scored by junior Mike Violette with 4:46 to play in the contest. Sophomore Bobby Barrett assisted Violette's first goal of the year.
Lake Forest put 24 shots on goal to the Pipers' 23 on the night.
The Foresters are now 2-6-0 on the season while Hamilne fell to 0-8-1. The teams will face off again Saturday evening at 5:00.
