Sophomore forward Bobby Barrett's goal at 17:28 of the third period tied the game and senior goalie Brendan Sullivan made 28 saves to lead the Lake Forest men's hockey team to a 1-1 tie with 15th-ranked Milwaukee School of Engineering Friday night at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
Sullivan, the reigning MCHA Defensive Player of the Week, played well for the Foresters (2-6-2, 1-5-1 MCHA), making three saves in the first period, 13 in the second period, nine in the third and three in overtime to keep them in the game.
After the two teams skated through scoreless first and second periods, MSOE (5-3-1, 3-3-1 MCHA) got on the board at 9:22 of the third period on a one timer from Casey Moneer from the left circle.
Barrett then tied the game just under 10 minutes later after sophomore Anthony Martinez centered a pass to Barrett who was on the right side of the ice. Junior Mike Violette also assisted on the goal.
The two teams face each other again on Saturday night in Milwaukee with a 7 p.m. start.
