The Forester women's basketball team fell 73-50 at St. Norbert College Wednesday night. Lake Forest will look to rebound against visiting Knox College on Saturday.
The Foresters' two seniors, guard Sam Schuring and forward Gina Ambrose, tied for team-high honors with eight points apiece and combined to shoot 6-for-12 from the field. Schuring also led the visitors with three assists and Ambrose tied for the team-lead with five rebounds.
St. Norbert shot 43 percent from the floor in the contest while the visitors made just 35 percent of their field goal attempts. The home team also had a 41-32 edge in rebounds and Lake Forest committed 24 turnovers to the Green Knights' 15.
After a three-pointer by Ambrose to begin the game, St. Norbert scored the next 16 points and eventually took a 34-20 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The Green Knight advantage surpassed 20 points early in the second half and remained in the 20's for the final 15 minutes of the contest.
The loss drops Lake Forest's overall record to 0-7 and Midwest Conference mark to 0-3. St. Norbert is now 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.
The Foresters will host Knox College Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
