The Midwest Conference released the 2013 All-MWC Volleyball Teams on Wednesday and Lake Forest College's Brittany Avonts was a First Team selection.
Avonts, a freshman middle blocker, led the conference with a .342 hitting percentage and ranked fourth in the league in kills per set (3.05) and sixth in blocks per set (0.82). She finished her rookie season with a team-high 287 kills and 77 blocks and her 29 service aces tied for first on the squad.
Avonts reached double figures in kills in 15 matches, including nine in a row from September 15 to October 5. She turned in season-high performances with 19 kills in a three-set win over Mount Mary University on September 10, four aces in a victory at Luther College on September 15, and seven blocks in a three-set loss at St. Norbert College on October 19.
She was the only freshman on the league's eight-member first team.
Lake Forest posted a 12-14 overall record on the season and went 6-4 in conference matches.
