The Lake Forest College volleyball team was defeated in four sets by Carleton College and in three by Coe College at the Associated Colleges of the Midwest Tournament at Luther College on Saturday. Sophomore Erin Sully had a career-high 15 kills and 22 digs in the first match of the day.
Sophomore K.C. Wenson was next on the team with 10 kills in the 25-22, 25-8, 23-25, 25-20 loss to Carleton and freshman Brittany Avonts followed with nine. Junior Brooke Perkins led the team with 23 digs and classmate Torie Pasiewicz had 17 digs to go along with a team-high 16 kills.
Lake Forest's 49 kills were actually two more than Carleton recorded but the Knights had nine blocks and eight aces to the Foresters' one and four, respectively.
Sully's five kills, sophomore Brianne Honda's 10 digs, and senior Victoria Drasler's five assists led the Foresters in their 25-9, 25-14, 25-14 loss to Coe.
The Foresters are now 3-7 on the season while Carleton raised its record to 8-3 and Coe to 13-2.
Lake Forest will take on host Luther College Sunday morning at 10:00 and Grinnell College at 12:30 p.m.
