Three straight kills by Avonts completed a 5-0 Forester run to begin set three and the visitors quickly extended their lead to eight points at 10-2. Lawrence pulled back to within four points at 10-6 and again later at 21-17 but would get no closer. Avonts had five kills in attempts during the set, which ended on a kill by Wenson.
Lake Forest scored the first point of the fourth set as well but the Vikings won six of the next seven to take a four-point lead. The Foresters came back this time and the score was tied at 9, 10, 13, 17, and 18 before the Foresters went ahead for good on the fifth, sixth, and seventh kills of the set by Avonts. Wenson's third set point kill of the night finished off the match.
