The Forester women's tennis team fell 5-0 to Grinnell College in the 2013 Midwest Conference Championship Match on Friday. Lake Forest had defeated Carroll University 5-1 earlier in the day to reach the final.
Grinnell swept the three doubles matches and won at the bottom two spots in the singles lineup to finish off the match.
It was the first loss of the year in the final contest of the fall semester for the Foresters, who are now 12-1. The Pioneers raised their record to 11-4 and claimed their fourth consecutive title. Grinnell also defeated Lake Forest in last year's championship match.
Both teams will also compete in individual doubles and singles tournaments over the weekend at the Nielsen Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The doubles tournaments will be played out on Saturday and the singles on Sunday.
