The Lake Forest College women's tennis team began its season with a 9-0 triumph at Wisconsin Lutheran College Thursday night. Sophomore Grace Dowling (left) and junior Gracie Mullins (right) each won twice, including 8-2 at #1 doubles.
Forester freshman Lexi Chionis and senior Lucy-George Cooper prevailed by the same score at #2 doubles while senior Aimee Fadden and freshman Marisa Guggenheim teamed up for an 8-0 victory at #3.
The visitors were also perfect in singles, where Dowling, Mullins, and Chionis picked up their second wins of the night. Chionis routed the top player from Wisconsin Lutheran 6-0, 6-1 and Dowling's victory at #2 was by the same score. Senior Elina Shapiro triumphed 6-0, 6-2 at #4 and sophomore Emily Rabin won both sets 1-0 at #6. Mullins and freshman Brittany Khayet did not lose a game in their 6-0, 6-0 victories at #4 and #5, respectively.
It was also the season opener for Wisconsin Lutheran.
Lake Forest will compete at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Warhawk Invitational on Saturday.
