Senior Allie Girard remained in third place as an individual and the Lake Forest College women's golf team moved up a spot into third at the Midwest Conference Championship Tournament on Saturday.
Girard recorded pars on 11 of her first 12 holes and finished with a round of 80 on the 5,801-yard, par-73 Aldeen Golf Course in Rockford, Illinois. Her two-day score of 164 is 16 shots behind the leader, a dozen out of second place, and 10 strokes ahead of fourth in the 36-player field.
Freshman Cecce Cruz was 11 shots better on Saturday than Friday and her round two score of 87 moved her up 12 spots in the standings and into 11th place. Sophomore Anhayte Guajardo carded a 93 and climbed three spots into 20th with a two-day total of 191. Sophomore Kalay Kotasek and freshman Yuka Kawata each shot 105 on Saturday and rank 28th and 33rd in the field, respecitvely.
With a two-day score of 650, Grinnell College increased its lead at the event to 82 shots over second-place Illinois College. The Foresters 740 leaves them eight shots out of second and 17 ahead of fourth-place Monmouth College.
Sunday's final round will begin at 10:00 a.m.
