The Lake Forest College women's golf team finished 43 shots better than visiting Lakeland College on Friday in the home team's first event of the spring semester. Forester Frankie Corrado's round of 80 was easily the best score of her freshman year.
Corrado carded the only birdie of the day, dropping in her fourth shot on the par-5, 469-yard seventh hole. She was just three shots over par after nine holes and completed the par-71 course in 80 strokes, nine better than her best score of the fall.
Forester freshman Aly Skoczek was next on the team and third overall with a 105 and junior Alex Dunn was just one shot back in fourth place. Senior Brooke Perkins finished in a tie for fifth place at 111.
The victory was Lake Forest's fourth in as many dual matches this year.
The Foresters will continue their first season as a varsity sport at Sunday's Loras Invitational. The tournament will be played at the Thunder Hills Country Club in Dubuque, Iowa.
