Lake Forest College women's golf player Allie Girard was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for her performance at the Benedictine Fall Invite on Sunday.
Girard, a sophomore, shot an 81 on the par-71, 5,817-yard course. She birdied the par-4 first and fifth holes as well as the par-5 10th. Girard also had five pars in her round.
Girard finished in third place out of 36 competitors and just one shot off the lead.
All four of Girard's rounds this season have been in the 80's and she is averaging an 83.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's Director of Media and Information.
