Freshman Trevor Allen was one of three players to win four times on the day as the Lake Forest College men's tennis team defeated St. Norbert College 9-0 and Lawrence University 8-1 at home on Saturday.
Allen and junior Ellis Lora-Arceo won 8-1 at #2 doubles against St. Norbert, matching the scores at each of the other two positions in the doubles lineup. Sophomore Dan Pivonka played with senior John Snider at #1 and the Foresters' #3 team was made up of junior Dragan Trivanovic and senior Jordan Stoler.
Snider was the first to finish in singles and his 6-2, 6-1 triumph made the team score 4-0. Lora-Arceo prevailed 6-0, 6-1 at #4 to clinch the match for the home team and Allen and Pivonka won by the same score at #2 and #1, respectively. Trivanovic defeated the Green Knights' #5 player 6-2, 6-4 and sophomore Nick Rehm finished off the contest with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #6.
Lake Forest took two of the three doubles matches against Lawrence, beginning with Allen and Lora-Arceo posting an 8-3 win at #2. Trivanovic and Stoler added an 8-2 triumph at #3.
Rehm was also able to play his #6 singles match while doubles was being contested and he prevailed 6-4 in the first set and 6-0 in the second. Lora-Arceo dropped just one game in the first set and took the second 6-0 at #4 and Trivanovic clinched the Forester victory with a 6-4, 6-0 win at #5. Pivonka matched Lora-Arceo with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #1, Snider came out on top of a 6-4, 6-1 decision at #3, and Allen finished off his perfect day with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #2.
The back-to-back victories raised Lake Forest's overall record to 11-7 and Midwest Conference mark to 4-1. St. Norbert fell to 5-6 overall and 2-3 in the league while Lawrence dropped to 11-8 overall and 5-2 in the conference.
The Foresters will continue MWC play Sunday afternoon against visiting Ripon College. The contest will begin at 3:00 p.m.
