Forester junior Dragan Trivanovic won a third set super tiebreaker for the second straight day and the Lake Forest College men's tennis team defeated Juniata College 8-1 Wednesday night in Orlando, Florida.
The Foresters led 2-1 after doubles play, thanks to an 8-1 victory by sophomore Dan Pivonka and senior John Snider at #1 and an 8-3 triumph by freshman Trevor Allen and junior Ellis Lora-Arceo at #2.
Allen blanked his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at #2 singles and Pivonka prevailed 6-1 in both sets at #1. Freshman Karl Fehn's 6-0, 6-1 win at #6 clinched the match for the Lake Forest and Lora-Arceo followed with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at #4. After Snider came out on top of a 6-2, 7-5 decision at #3, Trivanovic made it a clean sweep in singles with a 6-4, 3-6, (10-6) triumph at #5.
Lake Forest improved to 5-4 on the season while Juniata fell to 3-4.
The Foresters will finish off their Spring Break trip Thursday morning at 9:00 (EST) against Ursinus College. The match will be played at Winter Haven City Tennis Center in Winter Haven, Florida.
