Lake Forest College's Becky Esrock was named Second Team Academic All-District Tuesday by ESPN and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). She was one of just five sophomores among the 40 players on the first, second, and third teams.
Esrock currently leads the 2010 Foresters with 13 goals and 32 points and her six assists are tied for third on the squad. She is already tied for fifth in program history with 33 career goals and her 79 points rank eighth. She earned First Team All-Midwest Conference honors last year after scoring a school record 20 goals and leading Lake Forest with 47 points.
To qualify for the CoSIDA ESPN Academic All-District Team an individual must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative grade point average of no less than 3.30.
The Foresters finished the 2010 regular season 11-7-0 overall and 7-2-0 in league play. The team is headed to Carroll University this weekend for the four-team MWC Tournament and will take on Lawrence University in Friday's 11:00 a.m. semifinal.
