Forester sophomore Lisa Sorensen and senior Emily Weber were named Midwest Conference Offensive and Defensive Performers of the Week, respectively, on Monday. Lake Forest won 5-1 at Alverno College last Tuesday before defeating Milwaukee School of Engineering 2-1 at home on Thursday and blanking visiting Ripon College 5-0 on Saturday.
Sorensen posted a pair of 5-point games during the week. She scored the first goal, assisted on the second, and scored the third at Alverno. She netted the only goal of Saturday's opening period and added her seventh score of the season early in the second. Sorensen also recorded her fifth assist of the year a few minutes later to give the Foresters a 3-0 lead.
Weber helped lead a Lake Forest defense that surrendered just two goals in the three games combined. She also scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's second half and assisted on Sorensen's first goal against Ripon.
Sorensen leads the Foresters with seven goals, five assists, and 19 points. Weber is fourth on the squad with six points on two goals and as many assists.
Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director on Mondays. Weber also earned the award last week and once during each of her first three seasons.
