Women's soccer player Lisa Sorensen was named Forester Athlete
of the Week on Thursday after factoring in each of the first three
goals in both of the team's games in the last seven days.
Lake Forest began the week by opening Midwest Conference play
with a 5-0 victory at Knox College. Sorensen netted the only goal
of the first period at 8:56 and then assisted on the next two
scores early in the second half.
On Tuesday the Foresters won 5-1 at Alverno College and, for the
third game in a row, Sorensen contributed to each of the first
three goals. She scored the first less than two-and-a-half minutes
into the contest, assisted the second at 15:02 and scored again 52
seconds later.
Sorensen leads the team with 14 points on five goals and four
assists in just three games.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic
Department on Thursdays. Sorensen also earned the award once last
year.
