Lake Forest College's Conor Murphy was named Midwest Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for the second time in three weeks.
Murphy helped lead the Foresters to a 16-8 victory over Monmouth College on Thursday and a 10-7 triumph at Cornell College on Saturday. Tasked with marking the top offensive player from each team, both of whom ranked in the top four in the league in goals, Murphy limited them to just a pair of scores apiece. The freshman defender also had an assist in each game while picking up 13 ground balls and causing six turnovers in the two contests combined.
Murphy leads Lake Forest with 25 caused turnovers and ranks second on the squad with 40 ground balls on the season.
MWC Players of the Week are selected by the league's head coaches. Murphy also received the honor on April 4.
