Foresters Fall to Hope, Set to Start MLC Play

The Lake Forest College men's lacrosse team was defeated 22-5 by Hope College at home on Friday.

The Flying Dutchmen took control of the game early with three scores in the first four minutes and 10 in the opening period. The added four more scores in the second to take a 14-0 halftime lead.

Forester sophomore John Casey put the home team on the scoreboard early in the third quarter and scored again later in the period. He has at least one goal in every contest this season and a team-high 17 on the year.

Freshman Bode Rubright netted his seventh goal of the season early in the fourth quarter and classmate Jack Langworthy scored for the fourth time in 2022 before assisting fellow freshman Trip Gaston on the game's final goal. Gaston's tally was his 11th of the year.

The loss dropped the Foresters' record on the season to 2-5 while Hope improved to 6-2.

Lake Forest will being Midwest Lacrosse Conference play at Northland College next Saturday at noon.
