Men's hockey player Carson Poulin was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping lead Lake Forest to a 2-1 victory at Aurora University in Saturday night's season finale.
After stopping 9 of 10 shots on goal in the game's first 20 minutes, Poulin turned away all 22 he faced in the second period and made 14 more saves in a scoreless third. The sophomore's 45 saves on the night were the highest total recorded by a victorious Forester goaltender in more than six years.
Poulin now owns a .921 save percentage and 2.67 goals against average in five career appearances.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Lake Forest College Athletic Department on Thursdays.
