Mike Stusick '76 was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for for scoring his 100th career goal on January 9, 1976.
The milestone score occurred during an 8-4 triumph at Kent State University and Stusick added a pair of assists in the contest. The visitors also rolled to a 12-4 victory the next day to complete the series sweep.
Stusick finished his senior season with a team-high 25 goals and 25 assists and completed his four years at the College having scored 107 times while setting up another 94 Forester tallies. He remains the only player in program history to surpass 100 goals or 200 points in his career. Not far behind Stusick on both lists is John Handrahan '79, a freshman on the 1975-76 squad that ranks second in team annals with 197 career points on 93 goals (tied-for-second in team history) and a school record 104 assists.
Stusick was named All-American as a sophomore, junior, and senior and is the only Forester to earn the honor three times. He was inducted into the Lake Forest College Athletics Hall of Fame in 1987.

Until sports resume at Lake Forest College, the Athletic Department is utilizing its archives to continue the weekly recognition of high-level performances by Foresters. The department has selected a Forester Athlete of the Week since 1996, so these individuals will have earned this recognition by their performance at least 25 years ago.
