Freshman Amanda Lee was tied for the lowest score of the day to help lead the Forester women's golf team to a first-place finish at Elmhurst College's Bluejay Invitational on Tuesday.

Lee's round of 77 is the second-best score in the program's short history, trailing only the 73 posted by Allie Girard last September. She had nine consecutive pars and 14 overall on the 5,289-yard, par-72 course at Oak Brook Golf Club in Oak Brook, Illinois.

Forester sophomore Kaitlyn Gray was next on the team and fourth overall in the 26-player field with a score of 85. Her round included five pars and a birdie on the 290-yard, par-4 eighth hole. Sophomore Cece Cruz and junior Anhayte Guajardo needed 87 shots to complete their rounds and were tied for fifth at the tournament. Cruz carded a birdie on the 325-yard, par-4 11th hole and Guajardo on the 15th, which is also a par-4 and just a yard longer than the 11th.

Lake Forest's round of 336 was just three shots off the team record and six strokes better than runner-up Wheaton College on Tuesday. Aurora University was third at 359 and Benedictine University fourth at 468. Elmhurst and Lincoln College also competed at the event but did not have the required four players to appear in the team standings.

The Foresters will look to defend their title at the Marian Invite at Whispering Springs Golf Club in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, this weekend. Saturday's opening round will begin at 2:00 p.m. and golfers with the start of Sunday's second round slated for 9:00 a.m.
