Sophomore forward Leah Ebdon and junior forward Isabel Regine each had a goal and an assist as the Lake Forest College women's hockey team prevailed 4-1 in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Concordia University Wisconsin Tuesday night.
Regine assisted Ebdon on the official game-winning goal at 5:36 in the second period and Ebdon returned the favor at the 13:14 mark. Freshman forward Julianne Mauriello also earned an assist on Ebdon's second goal this season and sophomore forward Amanda Brunges helped Ebdon set up the first of the year for Regine.
Lake Forest first got on the scoreboard on the fourth goal of the season by senior defenseman Alex Stensland. She was assisted at the 12:17 mark of the opening period by senior forward Melissa Paluch.
After Ebdon's goal made it 2-0 in favor of the visitors, Concordia Wisconsin converted a power play opportunity at 7:49 in the second.
The Foresters regained their two-goal cushion on Regine's score and added an additional insurance goal by senior forward Michelle Greeneway at 8:09 in the third. Greeneway's team-high ninth goal of the year was assisted by freshman forward Amy Budde and sophomore forward Olivia Spellmire.
Lake Forest out-shot the home team 40-27 on the night.
Forester senior goaltender Allie Carter made 26 saves and improved to 5-0-0 with a 0.60 goals against average and .966 save percentage on the year.
The victory improves the Foresters' overall record to 7-0-1 and their NCHA mark to 5-0-0. The Falcons fell to 3-3-1 overall and 2-3-0 in the league.
Lake Forest will continue conference play at St. Norbert College Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
