The American Hockey Coaches Association released the 2015 CCM Division III Men's Hockey All-American Teams Thursday night and Lake Forest College's Leo Podolsky was the West's First Team goaltender.
Podolsky, a junior, went 15-6-3 with a .940 save percentage and 1.99 goals against average on the season. He ranks third in the nation in save percentage, 14th in goals against average, and tied-for-13th with three shutouts. In addition, his victory total, save percentage, and goals againast average all rank among the top two single-season marks in program history.
The starting goalie in 24 of Lake Forest's 27 games, Podolsky posted a save percentage of at least .900 in all but four appearances. He made 30 or more saves a dozen times and his team was 7-3-2 in those contests. He stopped a career-high 47 shots on goal in a 4-1 triumph at Lawrence University on January 30 and also surpassed the 40-save mark in another victory and two ties.
Podolsky, who was also named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Year, is the 12th All-American in Forester men's hockey history but first in 24 years. The program's last first team selection was Jon Pingree in 1985.
Lake Forest finished the 2014-15 season 15-7-5 overall and 12-5-1 in NCHA play. The Foresters' conference victory total and third-place finish in the league are their best since joining the NCHA in 1992.
