Lake Forest College men's golfer Jacob Krugman was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for his performance at a pair of events in the previous seven days.
Krugman, a freshman, was the medalist at Sunday's Wisconsin Lutheran College Spring Invitational with an even-par round of 72 on the 6,875-yard course at Morninstar Golfers Club in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He recorded five birdies on the day and finished one shot ahead of the runner-up in the 80-player field. Lake Forest was second out of 13 teams, just one stroke out of first.
The Foresters placed 10th out of a dozen teams at the Carthage College Spring Invitational on Tuesday. Krugman was second on the team and tied-for-25th out of 69 players with a score of 79. The event was held at Kenosha Country Club in Somers, Wisconsin, and was played on a 6,530-yard, par-70 course.
Krugman, who was also named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday, leads Lake Forest with an 18-hole scoring average of 76.08.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Krugman also earned the award on April 6.
