The Forester men's basketball team was defeated 69-44 by St. Norbert College, the nation's 11th-ranked team, Tuesday night.
Lake Forest shot a season-low 30.4 percent from the field and made just six of 17 three-pointers and 10 of 18 free throws. St. Norbert shot nearly 45 percent from the floor, out-rebounded the Foresters 40-28, and committed just eight turnovers while forcing 13.
The home team was led in scoring by sophomore guard Eric Porter, who came off the bench to knock down three shots from beyond the arc for nine points. Sophomore forward Orlando Brown grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
The Green Knights scored the game's first six points and led the rest of the way. The margin grew to as many as 10 points in the opening period, which ended the with visitors ahead 33-24.
St. Norbert continued to pull away in the second half and the lead was at least 20 points for the final six minutes of the contest.
The Foresters are now 10-9 overall and 8-7 in Midwest Conference play this season. St. Norbert improved to 19-2 overall and 16-0 in the league.
Lake Forest will look to rebound at Grinnell College Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
