Lake Forest Tied for Fourth in MWC Preseason Coaches Poll
Posted: Nov 04, 2015
The Midwest Conference released its 2015-16 Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll on Wednesday and Lake Forest College shared the fourth-place spot with Grinnell College. The Foresters finished last season in fifth place with a league record of 9-9.
Voting is done by the MWC head men's basketball coaches. Each coach votes for the ten other schools in the conference in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (ten points for first, nine for second, etc.). Coaches may not vote for their own teams.
Lake Forest is led for the second straight season by head coach Ken Davis, who guided the team to a 10-12 overall record in 2014-15, a two-and-a-half game improvement from the previous season. The team returns Second Team All-MWC forward Jim Schick, who led the league with 9.4 rebounds per game and the team with 14.7 points per contest.
After playing an exhibition game at UIC on November 7, the Foresters will officially open the regular season at home against the University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Saturday, November 14. The team's first conference game will be played a week later against Cornell College.
