The 2012-13 All-Midwest Conference Men's Basketball teams were released on Wednesday and Lake Forest College's Jeff Beck was among the five players named to the First Team.
Beck, a senior guard, ranked among the MWC leaders with 34.3 minutes (first), 18.1 points (third), 3.6 assists (seventh), and 1.4 steals (ninth) per game while shooting 43.5 percent on three-pointers (seventh) and 78.6 percent from the free throw line (12th). He reached double figures in scoring in all but three contests and finished with at least 20 points in 11 games with three 30-point performances.
Beck scored his 1,000th career point against Illinois College on January 19 and finished his career ranked 13th in program history with 1,116 points in the last four years. He is also third in team annals with 271 assists, seventh with a .391 three-point field goal percentage, and ninth with 111 three-pointers made.
Lake Forest was 53-41 during Beck's four years on the team and he started 92 games, including all 23 contest this season. He was also a Second Team All-MWC selection in 2011-12 and served as one of the team's captains this year.
