The Lake Forest College men's basketball team fell 100-62 at Grinnell College on Saturday. Forester senior forward Chris Madson reached double figures in rebounds for the third time in the last four games.
Madson finished with eight points and 10 rebounds on the day and has pulled down 51 boards during the four-game span.
Senior guard Jeff Beck led the visitors with 13 points while junior guard Jordan Gipson added 12 points and sophomore forward Brian Madson finished with 10 points and six rebounds. Junior forward Bledi Dervishi chipped in with eight points, five rebounds, and a pair of steals.
The Foresters shot 55.1 percent from the field but committed 22 turnovers. Grinnell connected on 49.3 percent of field goal attempts, including 23 of 49 (46.9%) of three-pointers. The home team also had a 34-29 edge in rebounds.
Lake Forest trailed by just two (17-15) in the first half before a 10-0 Grinnell run extended the margin to double figures. The Foresters pulled back to within eight but the Pioneers built their lead to 16 points (41-25) by halftime.
Grinnell continued to increase its lead in the second half by connecting on 15 of 30 three-pointers in the period.
The Foresters fell to 5-13 overall and 3-10 in Midwest Conference play. Grinnell is now 13-4 overall and 10-3 in the league.
Lake Forest will host Beloit College (10-7, 8-4 MWC) Tuesday night at 7:00.
