The Lake Forest College women's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by visiting Monmouth College on Saturday. The Foresters are now 6-4-0 overall and 2-1-0 in Midwest Conference play this season.
Monmouth had a slight 5-4 edge in shots in the first half but Forester junior goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger's three saves in the period helped keep the Fighting Scots off the scoreboard.
A red card at the 51:47 mark left the Foresters with just 10 players on the field and Monmouth took advantage with two goals in the next five minutes. Schleibinger made three more saves in the second half but the home team was unable to come back.
Monmouth raised its overall record to 4-5-2 with a win, loss, and tie in league play.
Lake Forest's next game will be a non-conference contest at Milwaukee School of Engineering Thursday night at 7:00.
