The Lake Forest College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 overtime decision to visiting North Central College on Tuesday. The Foresters fell to 6-3-0 on the season while the Cardinals raised their record to 5-3-0.
The Foresters out-shot North Central 5-3 in the first half and had the only shot on goal in the period.
Niether team had a corner kick opportunity in the opening period but combined for seven in the next 45 minutes, incuding four for the home team. Lake Forest had a 4-3 advantage on shots in the second half.
The Cardinals had the only two shots of overtime, the first of which was saved by junior goalkeeper Bri Schleibinger. Schleibinger also recorded a save in regulation. A penalty kick was awarded with 5:09 to play in the extra period and North Central's Emma Bader converted for the victory.
Lake Forest will resume Midwest Conference play on Saturday when the Foresters host Monmouth College at 1:00 p.m. The game will be played on the grass field located behind Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse (ice rink) and the Lake Forest College Sports & Recreation Center.
