The Lake Forest College men's basketball team outscored visiting Grinnell College 101-94 and out-rebounded the Pioneers 67-37 on Saturday. Junior guard Austin Terry was one of three Foresters to record a double-double in the contest.

Terry finished with 15 points and a dozen rebounds, five more than his previous career-high. Senior forward Brian Madson had 20 points and 13 boards in his final career home game and sophomore forward Jim Schick was just three assists shy of a triple-double. He scored 12 points and posted career-highs with 19 rebounds and seven assists.

Freshman guard Danny Nikitas led the Foresters with 25 points, including 12 on 18 attempts from the free throw line. Junior forward Torrey Davis also reached double figures with 15 points.

Lake Forest shot 47.8 percent from the field, 6-for-19 from three-point range, and 31-for-50 from the foul line. The Pioneers made just 35.2 percent of their field goal attempts and made just 10 free throws in 14 attempts. The Foresters committed 22 of the game's 30 turnovers.

Grinnell led by as many as 11 points in the first half but a 16-2 Forester run during a 5-minute span gave the home team a 29-26 advantage. A 12-0 run by Lake Forest later in the half turned a tie game in to a 12-point advantage and the Foresters led 51-40 at halftime.

The margin grew to as many as 15 points early in the second half but the Pioneers chipped away at the deficit and eventually tied the score at 74 with 7:39 remaining. Lake Forest responded with an 18-5 run over the next 4:15 nad led by 13 again with 1:33 left. After back-to-back three-pointers by Grinnell made it a seven-point game, the Foresters connected on six of eight free throws in the final 46 seconds to secure the victory.

Lake Forest improved to 10-11 overall and 9-8 in Midwest Conference play. Grinnell fell to 12-9 overall and 10-6 in the league.

The Foresters will close out the season next Saturday at Carroll University. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
