The Forester men's basketball team jumped out to a large first half lead and routed host Beloit College 72-47 Wednesday night. Lake Forest sophomore guard Andrew Toth and forward Jim Schick led all players in the game with 13 points apiece.

Toth shot 5-for-10 from the field, made three of the visitors' eight three-pointers, and added three assists in the contest. Schick was 6-for-9 from the floor and grabbed five rebounds, ending his streak of six games with at least eight boards.

Senior forward Brian Madson led Lake Forest with seven rebounds and finished with nine points. Freshman guard Danny Nikitas scored eight points while junior guard Austin Terry and forward Torrey Davis chipped in with seven points apiece. Nikitas also matched Toth's team-high three assists.

The Foresters shot 46.7 percent from the field 8-for-20 from three-point range, and 8-for-11 from the foul line on the night. The Buccaneers were held to just 26.4 percent shooting from the floor and did not have a player score in double figures. Beloit had a 41-32 edge in rebounds but committed 23 of the game's 35 turnovers.

A 19-0 run by Lake Forest in the first half turned a 19-15 lead into a 23-point advantage and the visitors led 40-19 at halftime. The margin grew to as many as 30 points in the second half.

The Foresters are now 7-8 overall this season and 6-5 in Midwest Conference play. The Buccaneers fell to 5-11 overall and 4-7 in the league.

Lake Forest, which moved into fourth place in the conference standings, will host Cornell College on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
