Lake Forest College women's basketball player K.C. Stralka was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping lead the team to a pair of Midwest Conference victories in the previous seven days.
Stralka, a senoir forward, started her week by scoring 11 points and leading the team with 13 rebounds, three assists, and four blocked shots in a 69-64 victory over visiting Monmouth College. It was her fifth double-double of the season.
The Foresters prevailed 81-74 at Beloit College Wednesday night. Stralka led all players in the game with a career-high 25 points and added seven rebounds. She shot 11-for-17 from the field in the contest.
The victories evened Lake Forest's overall record on the season at 5-5 and moved the team into a tie for fourth place in the standings with a league mark of 4-2. Stralka ranks second in the conference with 10.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game, 12th with 12.5 points per contest, and tied-for-14th with 2.3 assists per game.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
