All four scorers on the Lake Forest College men's golf team finished in the 70s and the Foresters tied for fourth place at Monday's 17-team Judson Invite.
As they have been more often than not over the last two years, sophomores Jack Dwyer and James Johnson were the team's top players. They posted matching rounds of 75 and tied for seven place out of 97 players on the 6,598-yard par-71 course at Randall Oaks Golf Club in West Dundee, Illinois. Dwyer birdied three of the final eight holes while Johnson carded a dozen pars on the day.
Freshman Ryan Higgins and sophomore Anthony Scarletta were next on the team and tied-for-23rd in the field at 78. Higgins needed the same number of stroke (39) to complete the first nine holes as the last and both halves of his round included a birdie. Scarletta, who was playing for the first time this season, started and ended his day with a birdie and added one more on the eighth hole.
Making his career debut, freshman Chris Cho posted a score of 81 and tied for 37th place at the tournament. After going out in 42, he finished the final nine holes in 39 shots with a birdie on the 529-yard par-5 15th hole.
The Foresters' score of 306 was their best of the young season and ranks tied-for-15th in program history. North Park University and Roosevelt University tied for first place at 303, Aurora University was at 305, and Wisconsin Lutheran College was tied with Lake Forest in fourth.
Lake Forest will be back in action on Tuesday at the Carthage Spring Invitational. They will tee off at 9:00 a.m. at Kenosha Country Club in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
