The Forester men's golf team placed third out of six squads at Sunday's Knox College Spring Invite. The event was played at Soangetaha Country Club in Galesburg, Illinois.
It was Lake Forest's first tournament of the season and just the team's second competition in the last 18 months.
Sophomore James Johnson was the Foresters' top finisher and his 80 tied him for second place overall, just one shot behind the individual champion. His round featured nine pars and a birdie on the 557-yard par-5 third hole.
Sophomore Jack Dwyer was next on the team and tied-for-seventh overall at the 34-player event. He carded birdies on the par-5 sixth hole and par-3 12th.
Freshman Ryan Higgins tied for 12th in his collegiate debut with an 85 while sophomore Carlos Garcia Bodini was tied-for-21st with an 89.
The Foresters will compete in the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational next Friday and Saturday at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois.
