Forester Men Predicted to Finish Second in MWC, Women Fifth

The Midwest Conference released its 2015 Cross Country Coaches Preseason Polls on Thursday and the Lake Forest College men were picked to finish second at this year's championship meet while the women's were predicted to be fifth. The teams were third and fifth, respectively, last season.

Voting is done by the MWC head cross country coaches. Each coach votes for the ten other schools in the conference in order of predicted finish. Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (ten points for first, nine for second, etc.). Coaches may not vote for their own teams.

The Foresters' men's and combined finishes at the 2014 MWC Championships were the best in school history, as were the teams' six All-MWC honorees. Each of head coach Dan Simpson's teams had four runners place among the top 25 in the league and all eight of those individuals are back, along with another strong recruiting class.

The Foresters will open the season at the Tom Barry Invitational in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Saturday, September 5. The 2015 MWC Championships will be hosted by Cornell College on Saturday, October 31.
