The Forester women's golf team placed second at the 2021 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship Tournament over the weekend.

Lake Forest finished Saturday's opening round comfortably in second place and the gap ahead and behind the team grew on Sunday. Grinnell College won the event with a two-day score of 644 and Iowa Wesleyan University was third at 736. With a 350 on Saturday and a 356 on Sunday, the Foresters were unable to threaten the Pioneers for the title and were also in very little danger of losing their runner-up position in the standings.

Freshman Chloe Morrissey was Lake Forest's top golfer again on Sunday and finished second out of 32 players in the tournament. Her round of 76 was three shots better than Saturday's score and included a dozen pars and a birdie on the 177-yard par-3 fourth hole. Sunday's performance matched the fifth-best round in program history while her 36-hole total of 155 ranks second team annals. In addition to earning First Team All-SLIAC honors for placing among the top five, she was named SLIAC Newcomer of the Year. Morrissey's scoring average of 80.83 this season is a new school record by nearly two strokes per round.

Senior Amanda Lee closed out her career on Sunday with a second consecutive round of 82. She birdied a pair of holes on the back nine, which the Foresters played first, and earned Second Team All-SLIAC accolades by tying for sixth in the field. She also finished her career with the second-lowest scoring average in team history at 85.40.

Lake Forest's third golfer on Sunday and for the tournament was freshman Makayla Sanchez, who posted a final score of 161 and placed 16th overall. Junior Grace Black rounded out the team's scorers and was 23rd with a 206 while senior Makenzie Kamm posted her best round of the year on Sunday with a 108.
